Psalm 68:19-Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah
From my family to yours, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving holiday. For many of us, this will be the first Thanksgiving with an empty chair around the table. Husband, wife, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, grandparent, uncle, friend, etc, may be missing from your home this year. It is alright to mourn their loss, just as it is alright to celebrate their memory and your other loved ones who are still here. A promise that we can embrace and lean on as children of God is the assurance that our Lord will safeguard our loved ones who have passed away in Him until that Day when we are united again.
Ruth 2:20-Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “Blessed be he of the LORD, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!”…
Luke 20:37-38-But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord ‘THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB.’ 38 For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him.”
Revelation 6:9-11-When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.
May the Lord comfort and bless each of you, and may we all comfort and encourage one another.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
